If you choose to delete your keybase, account and you’ve got some #stellar coins left inside that you prefer to gift away instead of deleting or knowing it will be for zooms profit, know that we do have a stellar address you can donate to.
This is AWESOME!!
Here's how to join @wiktor's decentralized keybase replacement effort, using myself as an example.
Thank you so much, Wiktor! That’s all I ever wanted Keybase to do for me. And now there’s a way to do this, but decentralized. This is awesome.
«This document describes a method of adding social proofs to OpenPGP keys in a way that can be independently verified by clients. This is similar to Keybase but decentralized.»
@jokke Exactly. The only things you should trust are the ones that you don’t have to trust because the people who built them decentred themselves and designed them so you don’t need to trust them to begin with.

Follow us for under-the-hood quirks, hopefully useful tips about python/django and packaging, as well as occasional friendly rants about qmail or other software. If you're lucky you might also get to see a sneak peek or three.
boots welcome :)
Zoom acquired Keybase today.
Keybase helped me to identify a trend in the software industry: using a pretty UI to cover up the disruption of an open ecosystem with a closed, centralized replacement. Keybase seemed cool on the face of it - making encryption easier is a laudible goal, and PGP certainly could use the improvement. But, thanks to Keybase, now I ask different questions upfront.
Beware the Keybase formula:
1. Integrates with an existing, open ecosystem
2. May have open-source clients, but server is closed source and does not federate
3. Pretty UI and good marketing
4. VC funded
Zoom acquired Keybase.
No, this is not a joke.

Leute, ein ganz wunderbarer Mensch wird gerade massiv von Rechtsextremisten bedroht, muss Schutzmaßnahmen ergreifen & braucht Hilfe. Schmeißt bitte was in den Hut.
Unfassbar. https://forum.snapcraft.io/t/disabling-automatic-refresh-for-snap-from-store/707
